The Big Four Accounting Firms

The "Big Four" are the four largest international accountacy and professional services firms, which handle the vast majority of audits for publicly traded companies as well as many private companies.

KPMG employs over 136,500 people in a global network of professional services firms spanning over 140 countries. Composite revenues of KMPG member firms in 2008 were $22.7 billion USD.
Ernst & Young is a global organization of memeber firms in more than 140 countries. Services are audit, tax and financial advisory. Revenue as of 2008 reported was $24.523 billion.
PricewaterhouseCoopers is the world's largest professional services firm and earned aggregated worldwide revenues of $28 billion for fiscal 2008. It has employed over 146,000 people in 150 countries.
Deloitte has approximately 165,000 professionals at work in 140 countries, delivering audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory services. Reported revenue in 2008 was $27.4 billion.
